Time-out in Dayboro

I'm having a short time-out just north of Brisbane while I clean out some of the dust from Cape York, and get my truck serviced plus a few minor repairs. My hand-brake doesn't work any more so I have been using any convenient tree or fence post when I have to park on a steep hill. One of the belts is making a noise so that needs to be replaced and / or tightened. I bought a new starter battery on Thursday, so that is one less thing to think about.

My truck does have a few scars from the Cape York trip. There is a small dent in the corner of the roof near the drivers door where the track was lop-sided and tipped us into a tree on the side of the road. The back bumper hit a rock on the descent to Cockatoo Creek, on the Old Telegraph Track, and made a very small dent in the back and a tiny crack in the right hand tail light.

Before I start heading south I want to revisit the road up to Maleny. My best camera has been cleaned and is now working properly again, so I will take a day to try and find some spots to get some good shots up in the hills there. And I am keen to pop in to the Queensland Museum to catch up for coffee with the two blokes I met up at Isla Gorge National Park.
