Pink Lakes, VIC, March 20, 2014

I spent last night beside one of the Pink Lakes near Underbool, taking lots of photos which I haven't processed yet. I kept at it until well after sunset and then was up again an hour before dawn. At least the flies went to bed after dark! I walked out onto the salt lake along the path of the old salt works road ... you can still see the remnants of the log road going a short way out. If you step off this and wander onto the thinner salt crust you start sinking down and water starts seeping up and filling your footprints. You know that if you stay in one spot, or go further out then you will be sinking up to your knees or further! The colour is amazing ... and changes several times with the morning and evening light. Here are a few snaps from my iPad.
