Boranup Beach Camped at the top of the point at the northern end of Boranup Beach. People camp on the beach and the northern end has a sheltered corner which can be seen here. Since it is the weekend, there were a few people spread out along this beautiful, long beach which is popular with surfers as well as the fishermen. It was pretty windy and I was out on the edge of the limestone cliffs taking photos until pretty late ... then up again around five thirty in the morning. There are so many tracks through the Boranup Forest it would take a while to explore them all. Going to try a few today. ;-)

Been taking a few shots of the aftermath of the bush fires around Northcliff today. Tens of thousands of hectares of country have been burnt and many big old trees have been toppled and are still burning ... probably will be for weeks methinks. It's had a huge affect on the tourism in the area and many business are suffering, let alone those people who have lost everything in the fires. These communities need all the support they can get. Still quite a bit of fire-fighting activity going on as well. I saw a couple of low-loaders carrying huge bulldozers and a helicopter that had been water bombing the fire in the D'Encastreaux National Park (I think)

Slept up in the forests above Walpole last night. Quite cool and it rained a bit just after midnight. Up at 5:30am to take some shots of the trees and water along the Frankland River at Nornalup. Time for coffee is now!!!
